Last week, a New Hampshire man was sentenced to 2 ½ years in prison for failing to pay more than $14 Million in payroll taxes and not filing his returns. This scenario is all too common as businesses try to take shortcuts with tax obligations.
As tax season begins, it's a good time to remind business owners that if you fail to withhold the FICA taxes or do not pay them to the Internal Revenue Service, you are committing a crime. Now is the time to get your financial house in order!
